A public acknowledgment of a new Haute Couture wedding brand is an uncommon and great event. In our case, the troublemakers are two young designers from Barcelona — the world capital of bridal fashion.
The two sisters Yolanda and Cristina Perez were born and grew up in the family of the well-known fashion designer Mercedes Alvarez. Many years ago she opened one of the first special wedding dress salons in the city. According to Yolanda, the sisters were growing among the needles, watching their mother work. She was famous for her fine taste and a skill to combine haute couture and pret-a-porter elements. While growing up, the girls decided to continue with the family business. With this purpose Yolanda went to the design school «Escuela Guerrero» whilst Kristina graduated from the faculty of business. In that way a perfect business duet was made. Kristina started to manage the company and Yolanda to create wedding and evening dresses collections. In 2005, the sisters incorporated their creative tandem and with the mom’s support founded their own company Yolancris. The name of the company is made up of the first letters of the girls’ names. The same year the wedding market saw an appearance of a first unique collection of the vanguard wedding and evening dresses, very complicated by design and production technique.
From this moment the triumphal ascent of this luxury brand to the top of the wedding fashion started. They are less than 30, but each of their new collection – is the long-awaited and important event. Every fashion show during «Pasarela Gaudi Novias» in Barcelona or «Cibeles Madrid Novias» in Madrid receives enthusiastic reviews from experts and in media. Eugenia Silva, a super model who especially came from New York has opened the last collection presentation. Participation in the «Salon Internacional Noviaespana» is the world’s biggest wedding fair, always attracting new ardent admirers.
